1. What does it take to open a Big Al’s Steaks franchise?
Big Al’s Steaks seeks highly-qualified individuals to become franchisees. Business experience, personal financial qualifications, a track record of success and individual motivation are key factors in our evaluation process. 2. How much money do I need to open a franchise?
Qualified individuals will need a mnimum of $100,000 in non-borrowed personal resources (liquid assets, e.g. cash, marketable securities, stocks, etc…), good credit, and reasonable collateral. The total cost of each unit varies by size and location. It is reasonable to assume that your completely built and ready to open Big Al's Steaks will cost approximately $300,000-$400,000 depending on construction costs.
3. How much are the royalties/annual fees?
Royalty and Services fees are 6% of gross sales. Ongoing Advertising/Marketing fees are 2% of gross sales.
4. How much can I make as a Big Al’s Steaks franchisee?
Franchise Law prohibits us from making guaranteed profit claims However, Big Al's Steaks stores have a low cost of goods percentage which allows the franchisee who follows the Big Al's System to achieve excellent return on investment. 5. Does Big Al’s Steaks offer financing?
No. However, Big Al’s Steaks A & S, Inc. is aligned with several banks that can provide qualified franchisees financing for their Big Al's Steaks store.
6. How long does it take to open the store?
Each location is different, depending on a variety of factors, including site selection, build-out requirements and training. However, it typically takes about 6-9 months from signing the franchise agreement to opening day at your Big Al’s Steaks franchise location.
7. What kind of training can I expect as a franchisee?
All new franchisees participate in a multi-week training program. This consists of 7 days at the Big Al’s Steaks Training Center located in Palm Beach County, FL (all travel, lodging, and meals included), a one day trip to Philadelphia (all travel, lodging, and meals included) where you will get that authentic Philly experience and photo opportunities. You will also receive up to 7 days of initial set-up, on-site at your own Big Al's Steaks franchise location, during which we will assist in training your employees and management team. Once completed, franchisees receive regular updates to their training, including on site reviews.
8. How is food quality and consistency maintained?
All products, with the exception of produce, are delivered by a national distributor to all stores on a weekly basis. Our vegetables are purchased from local sources and are delivered to your store fresh daily. In this manner, the high-quality Big Al’s Steaks sandwich you enjoy in Coconut Creek, FL is the same as the tasty sandwich you will make in your Big Al’s Steaks location.
